s a boring one. Well not quite, but still. You know that student who checks out each and every price tag when shopping for groceries, all the while focusing on the “rice\/pasta” shelves? That was me, 10 years ago. And any student needs to make ends meet. I could play bass. I spent months learning how to teach it. I did. Then I started buying cheese for my pasta. Then some new socks. And so on, until I built one of the most highly equipped teaching studios ever, with 8 bass guitars, 3 guitars, bongos, 3 amps, 4 cabinets, a massive effects chain, strings for the students, straps, a video projector to learn some stuff the big way, and so on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
rom then on, it’s a love story that a certain William would have probably liked. Well, without the tragic ending and stuff. What started as a means to make ends meet turned into a passion. A real passion to which I dedicate all my energy and time today. And I’m always really psyched to be able to share my modest knowledge regarding anything you’d want to know about bass guitar, music and… well, mainly bass and music.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
s to help you make the best musician you can be out of yourself. Now that’s some grammar indeed. But really, it is your motivation, curiosity and interest that I want to keep in constant progress during our classes. Your motivation is your first weapon. If you’re not 100% motivated to learn a lot of new things, you might just as well stop reading right now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
catalyst to your creativity. That’s merely what I am. A catalyst that will teach you anything you want and need to know about music and bass. All I ask in return is your willingness to learn, to be curious about many genres and instruments. You’ll notice that with a little bit of that and, of course, a little bit of listening, you’ll learn a lot more than just how to play an instrument. You’ll learn how to be a musician.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
o get you there, I have spent years perfecting my teaching techniques, a progressive pedagogy that has led me to teach in various European cities. I love teaching more than anything in the world, and people enjoy these techniques for a simple reason: there is not a single class you’ll get out of feeling you haven’t learned something useful. And if that were to happen, I’ll gladly reimburse you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
am a professional bass player, have toured in over 30 countries with bands ranging from metal to latin music. I enjoy listening to anything that will challenge a part of me, from smooth jazz to fusion to death metal to flamenco to arabic music or indian ragga, I am passionate about passionate music and we will find a lot to talk and think about if you are too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
ext to the music, I have studied communication science, graphic arts and computer science. While the former helped creating my classes and the way I organize my musical teachings, I gotta admit I am, to this day, not a big fan of the latter anymore. Which doesn’t mean I don’t keep in touch with what’s going on. In today’s musical adventures, you can’t ignore the computer part of it. Hence the 5 computers used in my studio in Lyon, 2 recording devices able to record up to 10 instruments at once, dual monitor setups and so much more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
